Resit Period
The resit period is a fifteen-day window that opens once the teaching period for all subjects and the defence of the Master’s or Postgraduate Final Project (TFM or TFP) has ended. Its purpose is to offer students who have not passed a subject the opportunity to submit a make-up assignment and thus pass the subject.
What are the requirements to access the Resit Period?
Only students who have passed more than 70% of the subjects in their program may access the resit period. It is possible to resit several subjects during the same resit period, as long as they do not exceed 30% of the total program. For example, if a program contains 10 subjects, only 3 can be resat. Otherwise, it is considered that the student has not acquired the necessary competencies and, therefore, will not be entitled to receive any academic degree.
Passing the Master’s or Postgraduate Final Project is an essential requirement to complete the program. If you fail it, it cannot be resat during the resit period and the student must retake it by enrolling again in the next edition of the program.
How does the Resit System work?
Students who have failed a subject will receive a notification by email informing them of the opening of the resit period, how to submit the make-up assignments, and the deadline for submission.
The make-up assignment will be available in the virtual classroom for each subject. In the weekly sections, you will find a tab titled “Resits”, where you can access, review, and submit the assigned task.
The maximum grade that can be obtained for a make-up assignment is 5, regardless of the results achieved in the activities or exercises submitted during this process.
What happens if the make-up assignment is not submitted on time or is failed?
It is essential to submit the make-up assignment within the established deadline. If it is not submitted on time or is failed, the subject will be definitively failed. To pass it, you will need to retake the subject by enrolling again in the next edition of the program and paying the corresponding fee.
