Welcome Week Guide for SHIFTA by Elisava
The Welcome Week is an introductory event we hold at the start of every Master’s and Postgraduate program at SHIFTA by Elisava. Its goal is to help new students get started, understand our academic methodology, learn how to use the Virtual Campus, explore the program structure, and clarify any questions about the documentation required to obtain your degree.
Welcome Week includes three main sessions:
- Academic Methodology and Virtual Campus Overview
Led by the Academic Coordinator
This session introduces SHIFTA’s learning methodology—how classes work, how assessments are carried out, and how to navigate the Virtual Campus. - Program Welcome Session
Led by the Program Director
This session covers the main objectives, curriculum, teaching team, and some useful tips to make the most of your studies. - Documentation Guidelines
Led by the Academic Department
This session focuses on the documentation process required to obtain your degree and answers the most common questions from students.
Occasionally, we also organize a fourth session in the form of a Masterclass with a guest professional from the industry, offering an updated and practical perspective on a relevant topic.
Each session lasts around 60 minutes, although they may run a bit longer depending on the number of questions.
When are the sessions held?
A few weeks before the start of Welcome Week, you’ll receive a personalized email with the access links, dates, and times for each session. The time zone will be clearly indicated in that message, and you’ll also receive a few reminders in the days leading up to the event.
Is attendance mandatory? Will the sessions be recorded?
As with all SHIFTA by Elisava programs, attendance at Welcome Week sessions is not mandatory. However, we highly recommend joining live to get the most out of the experience. All sessions are recorded and will remain available throughout the academic year in the Student Room, under the “Welcome Week” section.
How do I join the live sessions?
All videoconferences are hosted on the Class platform. However, you don’t need to log in — access is provided directly through the links sent by email. You can join from any device, but it’s essential to use the Google Chrome browser for the best experience.
We recommend doing an audio and video test before joining the session. It’s also a good idea to log in about 5 minutes early to ensure everything runs smoothly.
If you experience any technical issues accessing or viewing the sessions, please contact soporte@weareshifta.com
